As Sr. Editorial Director for Major League Baseball Productions (MLBP) from 2004-2015, Roger Schlueter served as a hub for hundreds of hours of films, series, documentaries and features: as researcher, fact-checker, script doctor and developer of ideas.

Early in his career, Roger interviewed and hired Jason Jhung, who spent the next decade revolutionizing Digital Asset Management (DAM) at MLBP.  While there, he oversaw talent acquisition, development and evaluation of a team of professionals that managed critical community-focused efforts related to the RBI Program.

Off the field, Roger and Jason also forged a partnership, as the sometime battery for the ”Legends,” a team playing in the Pancho Coimbre Baseball League; for Jason, a continuation of his work between the lines as a pitcher for Vassar College.

At Vassar, Jason was teammates with Tim Ott, who began his own career at MLB in 2002.  After an internship with MLB.com, Tim took on many roles over nearly a decade with the company, including editorial producer, fantasy guru, trivia supplier and occasional reporter.

Tim often crossed paths with Kenji Takabayashi, who spent 12 years at MLB.com as lead designer for the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals.  Kenji designed the look and feel for the award winning At-Bat application as well as the All-Star Game online ballot and other baseball incentives such as USA Baseball, YES Network and the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Roger, Jason, Tim and Kenji have spent a considerable portion of their professional lives thinking about baseball and finding creative, magnetic ways to tell stories about the play on the field: how to attract and maintain an audience, how to offer new perspectives and find the ideal balance between informing and entertaining.

Now, after their respective times with Major League Baseball have closed, the four have joined to create and develop Coffee & Box ScoresEach brings his own sensibility and particular talents to the project while complementing the others’.  From written pieces on the site and social media, to video and audio editions that can broaden the reach, the content created and curated by Roger, Jason, Tim and Kenji will be just the next turn in baseball careers that began two decades ago.
